The CFA Franc currency system and French resource concessions were post-colonial extraction mechanics disguised as development aid. The Alliance of Sahel States (AES) walking out of ECOWAS was the inevitable conclusion.

Just remember that Rosatom and Chinese state mining conglomerates are not charities either. Trading Paris for Beijing/Moscow changes the flag on the extraction contract, but local resource governance remains the core battle.
