The jagged corner is still officially called "Winston's Hiccup" in international cartography. Geopolitics is just drunk aristocrats with sharpies.

Churchill created Iraq, Jordan, and Palestine in a single weekend at the Semiramis Hotel in Cairo, handed the Hashemites the thrones, and went home for tea. 100 years of Middle Eastern wars because the British Empire didn't want to pay garrison troops.
